Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is monitoring the situation of Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge.
According to The Chronicle, Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez is closely monitoring his progress at Liverpool as he looks for January recruits.
Sturridge has found game time hard to come by this season, with Roberto Firmino leading the line for Liverpool – with success.
The report also claims that Newcastle are interested in Danny Ings and Andrew Robertson, who could be available on loan next month.
Ings and Robertson have also failed to maintain a regular place in the starting line-up at Anfield, which could cause them to look for a move elsewhere.
Sturridge has started five Premier League matches this season. In that time he has registered two goals and one assist.
Newcastle are looking for a consistent goalscorer and Benitez sees Sturridge as an ideal target to come in and save his side from a relegation battle.
