Amanda Staveley makes improved bid of £300m for Newcastle

Businesswoman Amanda Staveley has made an offer around £300 million to buy Newcastle United from Mike Ashley and there are now high hopes that the takeover deal will go through.

Staveleyhas been hoping to purchase the North East club for a number of months but she and Ashley were too far apart in their valuations.

However, after negotiations, it looks like the two parties have agreed a price and the takeover can now be completed.

Ashley has never been a huge fan favourite of the supporters and they’ll be hoping that Staveley will invest more money into the club than he did.

Whilst this news is a positive step, there are still plenty of hurdles to overcome before a deal is signed and sealed, but Newcastle fans around the world will be delighted that things seem to be moving in the right direction.
