# Juventus prepare to battle Newcastle for striker

Newcastle United’s pursuit of Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun appears to have become a whole lot harder.

According to a report from Turkish news outlet Fanatik, as covered by [talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/transfer-news-juventus-enter-race-newcastle-and-everton-target-cenk-tosun-171204264349), reigning Serie A champions Juventus want to land the prolific forward in the near future.

Tosun is a player whose future is under a lot of scrutiny. The Turkey international has been in good form for Besiktas this season and has only increased his stock.

Newcastle hold a strong interest in Tosun and want to land a new striker in January, but are sure to be faced with plenty of competition for his signature.

Juventus’ scouts were reportedly keeping a close eye on Tosun at the weekend, as his Besiktas side took on rivals Galatasaray in a blockbuster Super Lig clash.

The Italian giants’ representatives were not disappointed, either, as Tosun starred in a 3-0 victory, notching one of his side’s goals in what was a dominant display.
