Newcastle told to pay £20m to sign Luke Shaw in January
Newcastle United transfer target Luke Shaw will be allowed to leave Manchester United in January, but only for Jose Mourinho’s £20 million asking price, the Mirror reports.
Shaw’s game time at United has been cut short by a lack of fitness and a long history of injuries including a horrific leg break in a Champions League match against PSV in 2015 and it seems that he has lost his manager’s trust.
Newcastle United are said to be interested in the England international but are only offering a loan deal. However, it is understood that a number of English clubs are in the race to sign Shaw.
Chelsea showed strong interest in Shaw before he made the move to Manchester United but it is unknown whether they will be tempted by his availability in January.
Shaw has played just 47 minutes for United all season and with Ashley Young performing superbly, it is difficult to see the 22-year-old breaking into the side anytime soon.
