Newcastle will be hoping to get back to winning ways on Saturday afternoon as they welcome Watford to St James’ Park.
The Magpies have been stuttering recently but remain in a comfortable position on the Premier League table. They head into this weekend’s fixture having been defeated 4-1 by Manchester United in their last outing.
Watford, however, have been in good form recently and have enjoyed plenty of success under Marco Silva so far. The Hornets comprehensively beat West Ham 2-0 at Vicarage Road last weekend and will be looking to close the gap between them and Burnley in 7th.
Jamaal Lascelles and Christian Atsu are set to remain absentees for the clash against Watford this weekend and Isaac Hayden will also miss out through suspension. Paul Dummett is set to sit out despite making progress in his recovery from a hamstring problem.
However, Newcastle have been dealt a timely boost by Mikel Merino, who is now fully fit and ready to play.
