Newcastle United’s interest in Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun has been well documented over the last few months.
The Magpies were heavily linked with the forward in the summer transfer window and it seems Tosun is a target for Rafa Benitez’s side ahead of the January window as well.
Reports have stated that Newcastle face a stumbling block in their aim to sign Tosun, with Besiktas demanding an unrealistic figure for their key man.
However, Besiktas president Fikret Orman, as quoted by Turkish news source Aspor, admitted that he would be willing to negotiate if a club showed sufficient interest in January.
Cenk Tosun is like a diamond, a part of our family. If the conditions are right for Besiktas and the player, we will speak as of that day. There is no official offer to me at the moment.
Several Premier League clubs have been linked with a move for Tosun, who has been in fine form for his side in the early stages of the season.
Newcastle are on the lookout for reinforcements ahead of the January transfer window and the Magpies are reportedly keen to land a new striker to boost Benitez’s attacking ranks.
