Newcastle are reportedly set to make a club-record move to sign Galatasaray midfielder Badou Ndiaye in January.
According to a report from Turkish news outlet Aksam, as covered by talkSPORT, the Magpies are poised to pursue their interest in the midfielder by making a hefty bid.
Ndiaye has been linked with Newcastle since his days at Osmanlispor last season and it looks as though his impressive displays in a Galatasaray shirt have only increased his stock.

It’s claimed by Aksam that Newcastle are poised to make a club-record bid worth up to £18 million – a fee that would overtake the Magpies’ existing record transfer of Michael Owen from Real Madrid for £16.8m.
Ndiaye has been courted by a number of Premier League clubs in the last six months, with West Ham one team that have been perennially linked with a move.
However, it appears as though Newcastle will draw first blood in the race to sign the Senegal international in January if their takeover is to go through.
