Newcastle United have been handed a blow in their pursuit to sign Besiktas striker Cenk Tosun in January.
According to Turkish news outlet Sporx, the clinical striker is willing to cast all speculation regarding his future aside and push on with Besiktas for the remainder of the campaign.
It looks as though Tosun is happy to stay in his homeland of Turkey for the remainder of the season, putting any potential January deal in doubt for the Magpies.
Newcastle have been heavily linked with a move for the striker, who has continued to impress up front for Besiktas this season.
However, they appear to be receiving setback after setback at the moment.
The Magpies are clear admirers of Tosun’s talents, as has been shown by their persistent scouting of him throughout the season, but could very well be priced out of a deal for him.
Along with this, he looks like he’s keen to stay with Besiktas and fire them to yet another Super Lig title.
