Amanda Staveley appears to be edging ever closer to completing her takeover of Newcastle United.
According to an exclusive report from the Daily Star, PCP Capital Partners, a firm owned by Staveley herself, are in line to buy Newcastle and could tie up a deal in the coming week.
It’s claimed that the company progressed into the due diligence phase in October, as current owner Mike Ashley put the club up for sale officially.
Staveley has been touted with a move for Newcastle ever since she was spotted at St James’ Park in the opening stages of the season, and it now looks as though she is poised to buy the club.
It’s claimed in the report that Staveley is keen to have a deal tied up by December, with talks already seemingly accelerating.
If the takeover does go through with such time to spare, it’s likely that manager Rafa Benitez will be backed with more financial power – something that was necessary in the summer.
