Newcastle United are worried over the fitness of Ghanaian winger Christian Atsu after he was forced to withdraw from the Black Stars’ squad for their World Cup qualifier against Egypt.
The Ghanaian FA took to social media to reveal the winger’s withdrawal from the squad with a thigh injury.

Atsu has made eight appearances for the Magpies so far this season, scoring one goal in the process, but he is now a major doubt for his side’s upcoming game against Manchester United.
Having withdrawn from his national team’s squad, Atsu will now return to Tyneside to have his injury assessed and start his recovery — before Newcastle face Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United side at Old Trafford in eight days’ time.
The evening kick-off between the Magpies and the Red Devils will be shown live on Sky Sports.
