Newcastle United want to sign Danny Ings from Liverpool, according to the Chronicle.
It’s claimed that the Magpies are keen to bring in the former Burnley man on a loan deal, running up until the end of the season.
Rafa Benitez wants to bring in more quality for his Newcastle squad in the January transfer window, irrespective of the potential takeover at St James’ Park.
Ings has been on the road to recovery for some time now and is available for first-team action after building his fitness with Liverpool’s Under-23s.
The 25-year-old has been suffering several injury woes in the last couple of seasons. On separate occasions, Ings suffered long-term knee injuries, which have largely halted his progress at Liverpool.
Ings was superb during his time at Burnley and is undoubtedly a talented player when fit, but question marks remain as to whether or not he can keep himself in the right physical state to cope with Premier League football again.
Liverpool are willing to loan Ings out, the Chronicle claims.
