Saint-Etienne have reportedly offered Jonathan Bamba a new deal at the club, amid interest from Newcastle.
According to a report from the printed edition of French news outlet L’Equipe, as covered by Sport Witness, the Ligue 1 side are determined to keep hold of one of their brightest prospects, and have offered him a new and improved contract.
Bamba’s deal at Saint-Etienne expires at the end of the season, and a whole host of European clubs have been linked with a move for the youngster.

Newcastle have been persistently cited with interest in Bamba, and although Saint-Etienne’s improved offer is sure to be lucrative for the France Under-21 international, the Magpies remain in a stronger financial position.
Bamba’s wage demands were initially deemed to be over the top by Saint-Etienne, but it looks as though they are making moves to ensure his future is in France.
West Ham have also been linked with Bamba in recent times.
