# Staveley wants Newcastle to sign three England internationals in January

Newcastle United are planning an eye-catching spending spree, that could see them sign three England internationals if the proposed takeover involving Amanda Staveley goes ahead.

The [Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/655580/Newcastle-takeover-Exclusive-Amanda-Staveley-Rafa-Benitez-transfer-budget-Luke-Shaw) reports that the group PCP Capital Partners have already held preliminary talks with representatives from the club to discuss Rafa Benitez’s transfer budget for the January window.

Moves for Manchester United’s Luke Shaw, Everton’s Ross Barkley and former Newcastle forward Andy Carroll have all been discussed, with Benitez reportedly set to be given in the region of £100 million to spend.

The club are thought to have their eyes on moves for a left-back, midfielder as well as another forward to improve the Magpies’ attack.

Previous reports have suggested that Mike Ashley wants the club to be sold by Christmas, while others have stated that Staveley is already carrying out due diligence checks on the club.

Carroll has been linked with moves back to the club in the past, while Shaw’s future at Manchester United remains unclear.

The former Southampton defender appears to have fallen out of favour under Jose Mourinho.

Barkley was linked with moves to Chelsea and Tottenham during the summer, but a deal never materialised, rumours about his future are likely to resurface in January.
