According to a report published in the Mirror, Newcastle striker Aleksandar Mitrovic has been charged with violent conduct following an alleged elbow.
The 22-year-old Serbian, who came on as a substitute in the second half of their 3-0 win over West Ham, had a coming together with Manuel Lanzini and appeared to strike the midfielder in the side of the head with his elbow.
Neil Swarbrick and his assistants did not see the incident at the time, and Mitrovic went on to score his side’s third goal, but he now could find himself on the end of a three match ban after the FA reviewed the incident after the game.
Should the Serbian, who has a poor disciplinary record already, be found guilty, he will not be available for Newcastle’s Premier League matches against Stoke, Brighton, and Liverpool.
He has been given until 18.00 on Wednesday 30th August to deny the charge.
