Newcastle name their price for Mitrovic

Newcastle United appear to have named their price for controversial striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

According to a report from the Mirror today, the Magpies will demand a fee of £20 million for the Serbian international, who is being courted by a number of clubs in the final week of the transfer window.

The Mirror claim that Greek giants Olympiakos are the latest side to have taken an interest in the former Anderlecht man. They will reportedly lodge a late move to land Mitrovic, despite him having been told that he is likely to stay at St James’ Park.

Mitrovic netted in Newcastle’s 3-0 win over West Ham at the weekend, and further highlighted his ability to manager Rafa Benitez.

It’s also stated that Benitez will only consider selling Mitrovic not only if the considerably large price tag of £20m is met, but also if he can have a replacement lined up and ready to come in before the window slams shut on Thursday.
