Newcastle United are facing competition from AS Monaco for the signature of Inter Milan forward Stevan Jovetic.
According to Sky Sports, the reigning Ligue 1 champions are the latest side to join the race for the Montenegro international, who could be set for an exit from the San Siro in the final week of the window.
Newly-promoted Brighton are also cited with interest in the former Manchester City striker, but their financial capacity to sign Jovetic could be somewhat questionable.

It’s believed that Inter would welcome offers for the striker, who is low down in the pecking order under Luciano Spalletti at Inter.
The 27-year-old spent a large chunk of last season on loan with Sevilla and caught the eye on a few occasions, prompting interest now from more clubs across Europe.
Jovetic is claimed to not be particularly keen on the idea of signing for Newcastle, and Monaco may be an attractive proposition for him.
