Newcastle United have officially signed Spanish striker Joselu from Stoke City.
There had been various reports in recent times suggesting that the Spaniard was poised to complete a move to St James’ Park, and the speculation has now become a reality, with Joselu penning a deal with Rafa Benitez’s side.
Newcastle have been on the lookout for a new striker throughout the course of the summer and after being pegged back in their attempts to land Lucas Perez from Arsenal, a move for Joselu has been secured.
The powerful forward impressed for the Potters in pre-season but with Jese Rodriguez coming in at the Bet365 Stadium, one striker was always set to be offloaded by Mark Hughes.
Benitez has been left frustrated by the Magpies’ business this summer but he has finally got an attacking reinforcement through the door, and will hope that Joselu can perform for his new side.
