Newcastle United are reportedly discussing a deal for Joe Bryan with Bristol City.
According to the Daily Mail today, the two clubs are deep into negotiations over a potential transfer of the left-back, who has caught the eye of those at St James’ Park.
Newcastle have been linked with moves for plenty of full-backs this summer and it appears as though they are closing in on the Bristol City man as they look to recruit more defensive cover ahead of the main block of the season.
Paul Dummett was forced off in the early stages of Newcastle’s defeat to Tottenham on Sunday afternoon, only further reinforcing the necessity to sign another left-back for Rafa Benitez.
Having already enquired for Diego Laxalt of Genoa, it looks as though Bryan is the preferred choice for Benitez, and it’s claimed that Newcastle believe he can make the step up to the top flight.
Birmingham and Leeds have also been linked with a move for Bryan.
