Goalkeeper’s agent suggests Newcastle move is possible

Udinese goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis has been subject to plenty of interest from English clubs this summer.

A plethora of Premier League outfits have been touted with interest in the experienced shot stopper, and the goalkeeper’s agent has revealed that he will sign for either Newcastle, Crystal Palace or Watford this summer.

Vlasileiss Panagiotakis told Italianwebsite CalcioNapoli24, as quoted by the Hertfordshire Mercury:

He’ll play for Watford, Newcastle or Crystal Palace. Links to Napoli are dead.

Rafa Benitez has been chasing a new ‘keeper for a short while now, and with the Premier League campaign already underway, he’ll be hoping to tie up a deal for the Greece international in the imminent future.

The 32-year-old is wanted by three clubs who are all in need of a new goalkeeper, which will certainly bode well for him as he seeks a new challenge away from Serie A.

The Magpies are said to be keen on offloading Tim Krul, which would free up a space for Karnezis to flourish as Benitez’s first choice for Newcastle.
