Newcastle United have reportedly lodged an enquiry to sign Genoa winger Diego Laxalt.
The tricky wide man appears to be high in demand this summer after showing positive signs in Serie A last term. And now, according to the Daily Mail, the Magpies are keen to land him.
Rafa Benitez has been frustrated by Newcastle’s inability to work around the market and secure top targets so far in this transfer window, but it looks as though he has turned his attention to Laxalt.
The 24-year-old has previously been claimed to hold an interest in making a move to the Premier League one day, and Newcastle could benefit from his ability to make a difference from wide areas.
Laxalt has been linked to Liverpool in recent times, and he has also been subject to interest from Serie A duo Fiorentina and Atalanta.
Predominantly a left-sided winger, Laxalt is a full Uruguay international.
