Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is said to be furious with the club’s board after failing to sign Joselu from Stoke.
The Mirror report that the former Real Madrid boss is due to hold more talks with Mike Ashley over the lack of transfers.
The Spaniard, who has seen a £12 million bid for Joselu turned down, is desperate to sign a striker before the new campaign kicks off in just under a weeks time.
Benitez is also frustrated by the board’s decision to not re-sign Andros Townsend from Crystal Palace.
The winger was linked with a move back to Newcastle in January and Benitez is keen to re-sign the player that left the club following their relegation from the Premier League.
Townsend is thought to be available this summer and Palace have already rejected a £10 million offer from the Magpies.
Newcastle have been busy in the market this summer but are yet to bring in a recognised striker.
