Benfica to listen to offers for Newcastle target Carrillo
Portuguese giants Benfica are ready to listen to offers for their out of favour winger Andre Carrillo as Newcastle United, Crystal Palace, Stoke and Watford among clubs interested, according to a report on TalkSPORT, who cite A Bola.
The huge interest in the player has led to his club opening themselves to offers for the Peru International winger.
Carrillo failed to make a positive impression last season at Benfica with the club ready to cash in on the player, who can also operate behind the striker.
The Peruvian made the dreaded switch to Benfica from huge city rivals Sporting Lisbon but struggled to make it into the first team and is now reportedly ready for a new challenge.
He is currently under contract with the club until 2021 and he was suspended during his final season at Sporting for refusing to sign a new contract, being accused of ‘treachery’ and ‘damaging the club’.
The left-winger is hugely skilful and full of pace when playing with full confidence and will be an asset to whichever side he joins.
Newcastle were in the race to sign Carrillo in 2015 where they made a £7.5 million bid for the player but the deal did not go through.
