Newcastle United are facing competition from across Europe to the signing of Arsenal forward Lucas Perez.
This is according to the player’s agent, who says there is interest from clubs in a number of Europe’s top leagues.
Perez’s agent Rodrigo Fernandez Lovelle has revealed that clubs from Turkey, Germany, France and England are interested in signing his client this summer.
As quoted by the Northern Echo, Lovelle said this:
There is a lot of interest in the French league, the Turkish league, the Premier League and the Bundesliga. It’s normal, we’re talking about an Arsenal player who did not play a lot there but he’s the only one who scored in four competitions.
This comes after Arsenal made the decision to let go of the forward this summer to free up funds for more signings.
Arsenal are thought to value Perez at around £13.4m, though Newcastle are hopeful of sealing a loan move for the striker.
Perez signed for Arsenal from Deportivo La Coruna for a fee in the region of £20m, though Arsenal are yet to pay every instalment of that fee.
The 28-year-old scored seven goals in 21 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions last season.
