Bordeaux striker Diego Rolan appears to be seriously keen on a move to Newcastle United this summer.
According to a report from the Mirror, the Ligue 1 side and Fulham have already reached an agreement over a £5m deal. However, the player himself is cautious to agree terms with the Cottagers. This is because he is keen to play in the Premier League, and Newcastle are likely to offer him the best chance of doing so.
Rolan has been linked with a move away from France for some time now and Fulham and Newcastle have both been the two clubs touted with a move for the Uruguay international the most.
However, Fulham appear to be ahead of the Magpies in their advances for the striker, with them in agreement with Bordeaux.
Despite this though, the player himself is claimed to be waiting to see if Rafa Benitez’s interest in his signature is concrete or not, with him wary of committing his future outside of the top flight.
If the Magpies do meet Bordeaux’s asking price of just £5m, it’s likely that the 24-year-old will favour a switch to St James’ Park.
