According to a report from the Mirror, the Magpies are keeping tabs on Jacob’s brother Josh Murphy, with them pondering a move for him next summer.
Rafa Benitez remains keen on bolstering his attacking options ahead of Newcastle’s highly anticipated return to the Premier League next month, and Murphy is a player on his radar for the future.
The Norwich man made just 17 starts for them in the Championship last season but impressed, nonetheless, presenting himself as a highly promising player.
The Murphy brothers are from a Newcastle-supporting family, which is sure to give the Magpies the upper hand if they choose to make their move for Josh Murphy next summer.
Although a bid is unlikely in the near future from Newcastle, their interest in Murphy is certainly one to keep an eye on.
