Middlesbrough have had a loan offer rejected for Newcastle goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
According to the Nottingham Post, Middlesbrough are keen on signing the shot-stopper, with Newcastle not opposed to an exit.
Newcastle are said to value Darlow at £5m and are unwilling to send him out on loan.
Darlow was Newcastle’s first-choice in the Championship last season but looks set to be surplus to requirements under Rafa Benitez next campaign.

Matz Sells and Rob Elliot both had spells in goal but it was Darlow who held the gloves for the longest.
The young shot-stopper played 34 Championship matches as Newcastle clinched the title and were promoted to the Premier League.
The report also claims that Reading and Aston Villa are monitoring the situation and could make an offer.
Middlesbrough could yet come back with another concrete offer for the Englishman, as they look for a new number one for the upcoming campaign.
