# Saint-Etienne name their price for Newcastle target

Newcastle United have been heavily linked with a move to sign Kevin Malcuit from Saint-Etienne this summer.

The Magpies, and particularly West Ham, have been touted with interest in the promising full-back. Both clubs appear to be targeting both right and left-backs this summer as they look to bolster the weaker areas in their squad.

Newcastle currently have a shortage in quality at right-back, with Jesus Gamez and DeAndre Yedlin the only two options. So, it’s somewhat unsurprising to see the Magpies being linked with a plethora of full-backs in recent times.

However, if they are to land the 25-year-old from Saint-Etienne, they will need to cough up a fairly large fee.

L’Equipe, as cited in a report from [HITC](https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2017/06/29/report-west-ham-and-newcastle-told-to-pay-88-million-for-kevin-m/), are claiming that the Ligue 1 side are to demand £8.8m for Malcuit this summer as interest builds.

The report also implies that the defender would be interested in a move to the Premier League in the near future.
