Armstrong lined up for Championship loan

Newcastle forward Adam Armstrong is being lined up for a move back to the Championship, with Bolton Wanderers interested.

A report from the Newcastle Chronicle implies that the young striker is to be handed some experience elsewhere for the start of next season, with Bolton having expressed an interest.

Given the attacking options at Rafa Benitez has at his disposal, it’s hard to see where Armstrong fits in ahead of next season. The Magpies have also been heavily linked with a number of strikers over the last couple of months.

The England Under-20 international undoubtedly has potential and could very well turn out to be a key player for Newcastle, but it’s looking more likely that he’ll be better suited to a lower division while he develops.

Armstrong’s representatives are reportedly actively looking for a move for their client, as he looks to continue his development and push on while out on loan.
