# Newcastle eye double swoop for England U21 wingers

Newcastle are keen to sign both Norwich’s Jacob Murphy and Leicester City’s Demarai Gray this summer.

The [Chronicle](https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/newcastle-looking-three-international-wingers-13234414) reports that Rafa Benitez is keen to add width to his squad and is also extensively scouting Tom Lawerence, who impressed on loan at Ipswich last season.

Murphy has played a key role at the U21 European Championships this summer in an England side who have reached the semi-finals.

Newcastle are ready to test Norwich with a £8 million bid for the player, although the Canaries are likely to demand closer to £12 million.

Leicester will ask for somewhere in the region of £20 million for Gray, who has been linked with Tottenham and Liverpool in the past.

Newcastle could be wary of sanctioning a deal that would be a club-record transfer fee for a player who struggled to break into the Leicester squad last season.
