# Newcastle among clubs chasing Arsenal defender

Newcastle are one of many clubs keen on landing Calum Chambers this summer, according to a report from the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4612484/Everton-keen-Arsenal-defender-Calum-Chambers.html).

The England Under-21 international is currently out in Poland with the international team as they look to succeed in this year’s European Championships, but he’s sure to be a man in demand upon his return.

Arsenal sent Chambers out on loan last season and he was a fairly regular feature in Middlesbrough side. Despite them going down, the young defender was one of the better players in Boro’s system and has evidently attracted interest.

It’s claimed that the Gunners would be willing to part ways with Chambers if a fee of around £15m is coughed up, which is a considerably steep sum to pay. However, Arsene Wenger will be keen to recoup most of the £16m fee he initially shelled out to Southampton in order to land the youngster.

Newcastle are joined by Everton and Bournemouth in their interest.
