Newcastle United goalkeeper Freddie Woodman has admitted that he is unsure about his future at the club, but reiterated his desire to play for them.
Speaking to the Telegraph after he helped the England Under-20’s secure the World Cup title out in South Korea, the impressive shot-stopper spoke of how he was uncertain as to where he’d be playing his football next season and insisted he is ‘not sure’ what will happen when he returns to St James’ Park.
I am not sure what will happen at Newcastle. I am just waiting for them to tell me when I am back in pre-season. I am a Newcastle player and my goal is to play for Newcastle one day.
Woodman was a hero for the Three Lions today as they defeat Venezuela 1-0 in the Under-20’s World Cup final, saving a penalty late on to ensure that Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s early strike was enough to secure some silverware.

The Magpies’ goalkeeper earned himself plenty of plaudits for a stellar campaign with the young Lions and if an opportunity arises for him to leave this summer, he’s sure to have plenty of teams keen on landing him.
Woodman is yet to be told whether he will play a part next season by Rafa Benitez.
