# Newcastle set to hold talks over move for Montpellier man

Newcastle are reportedly set to hold talks with Montpellier’s representatives over a move for Ryad Boudebouz this summer.

According to popular French broadcasters Canal+, as covered in a report from [Inside Futbol](https://www.insidefutbol.com/2017/06/09/newcastle-united-to-hold-weekend-talks-with-ligue-1-club-in-push-to-land-target/339632/), the Magpies are pursuing their interest in the creative midfielder ahead of a potential summer move, and will look to persuade the Ligue 1 outfit that they are the club to offer the best deal.

Montpellier have effectively admitted that they will allow Boudebouz to seek pastures new this summer as he looks for a new challenge after a superb campaign in Ligue 1.

Boudebouz made the most key passes in Europe last season and established himself as his side’s main man, contributing with several impressive goals and assists.

Plenty of other Premier League clubs have been cited with interest in securing the experienced playmaker, but it looks as though it’s the Magpies that are making the significant steps to sign him.

Canal+ state that Newcastle will hold these talks at the weekend.
