Newcastle are being linked with a surprise move to re-sign Andros Townsend from Crystal Palace this summer.
The tricky wide man has chipped in with important goals throughout the course of the campaign and proved to be an important cog in Palace’s team in the 16/17 season.
However, he is now a wanted man and Newcastle United, fresh from their promotion back to the Premier League, are looking to make their move for the England international.
The Magpies were the team that sold Townsend to Palace initially after their relegation to the Championship, but it looks as though they’re considering a move to bring him back to St James’ Park this summer according to the Newcastle Chronicle, as per a report from the Croydon Advertiser.
Townsend is one of many options for Rafa Benitez’s side as he looks to bolster his options ahead of the coming season, but Palace are sure to be keen to keep hold of the powerful winger beyond this summer.
