Now that Newcastle have secured their promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking, Rafa Benitez has a tough task on his hands shaping the squad how he wants it.
The belief is that nearly all of the players brought in last summer aren’t seen as viable long-term Premier League players by Benitez and that he’s after at least eight new players in the summer transfer window.
Is he right to believe that, though?
Newcastle spent in the region of £55m last summer, surely the vast majority of those players should be able to contribute next season in the Premier League? What do you think?
