# Newcastle join the hunt for Sandro

Newcastle United have reportedly joined the hunt to sign in-form Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez this summer.

According to a report from Spanish news outlet Sport, as cited by [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/southampton-newcastle-united-dragged-transfer-chase-benitez-hold-advantage/), the Magpies are one of several clubs in England keen to bring Sandro across. A plethora of La Liga clubs have also been keeping a close eye on his progress.

Since his move from Barcelona, Sandro has been in good form for Malaga and has established himself as one of the most exciting young talents in the league.

The 21-year-old has been leading the line for Malaga and has been playing his part, netting an impressive six goals in just as many matches.

Newcastle need to strengthen their squad ahead of their return to the Premier League and a player of Sandro’s quality would certainly prove to be a shrewd piece of business.

Although Sandro has a quite incredible release clause of just €6 million, the Magpies are sure to face competition for his signature this summer.
