Newcastle will be full of confidence after they secured their promotion to the Premier League on Monday, but they now turn their attention towards Friday’s clash against Cardiff.
The Magpies were rampant as they swept aside Preston North End on Monday, ensuring that Premier League football will be coming back to St James’ Park next season. However, they won’t look to ease up now and will be looking to keep up the pressure on Brighton at the top of the table.
Chris Hughton’s side are four points ahead of Rafa Benitez’s men and although it’s looking unlikely that Newcastle will manage to overtake Brighton and win the league, they’ll be keen to win their remaining two fixtures and finish the season strongly.
Cardiff, on the other hand, are sat in 13th place and are well away from the relegation zone, and they’ll be keen to push for a top-half finish.
