# Premier League centre-backs Newcastle should target

Newcastle United are just games away from securing their place in the Premier League next season.

They currently sit in second place on the Championship table, narrowly trailing Brighton at the very summit, but it’s looking nailed on that they will be back in the big time next season.

It’s been a highly enjoyable season for the Magpies under Rafa Benitez, with the Spaniard keeping his men focused and applied to the task at hand. The squad has an abundance of talent and potential and look set for an exciting campaign next term.

However, it is without a doubt that improvements could still be made to the squad and there are still areas that could do with some bolstering.

Experience of the top flight will be necessary for Newcastle and they could certainly find some defensive reinforcements with quality and Premier League know-how.

So, here are some Premier League centre-backs that Benitez should consider signing!
