Just days after it was revealled that four of Newcastle’s festive fixtures have been rescheduled, it has now been announced that their New Year’s Eve fixture against Nottingham Forest at St. James’ Park (3 pm) has also been changed.
The match has been brought forward and will now be played on Friday 30th December at 7.45 pm.
The reason given by the club for yet another rescheduling is that it will help ease transport problems for the supporters as the end of the game will clash with a New Year’s Eve parade which has been organised by the council.
Whilst this rescheduling will help fans with their transport arrangement and their New Year’s Eve celebration plans, it is bound to anger those fans who have work commitments on that Friday.
However, one benefit of this change is that the Newcastle’s players will now have a full two days rest before their next game against Blackburn (A) on the 2nd January.
