Newcastle have been very busy this summer and with the recent signings of Ciaran Clarke and Mohamed Diame, they have increased their tally of signatures to eight.
At the moment, Newcastle’s senior squad consists of a whopping 38 players. This includes five goalkeepers and six strikers.
Whilst some of the 38 are not available for selection (due to injuries or being out on loan), Newcastle United manager Rafa Benitez is still going to have a lot of players to choose from. Therefore, due to the quality at his disposal, it is clear that Benitez is going to be faced with a few selection headaches when it comes to choosing his starting XI to play against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Friday.
I have decided to put myself into Rafa’s shoes and, therefore, in this slideshow I choose the eleven players that I think he will pick to be in the starting XI on Friday night. I am assuming that he will be using a 4-2-3-1 formation
P.S Whilst I can guess the players that he might choose, I cannot guess his personal reasoning behind each selection. Therefore, below each picture, I have given my own reasons as to why I would choose them.
