Newcastle are stepping up their interest in Crystal Palace forward Dwight Gayle as per The Chronicle.
Rafa Benitez is after another striker to help the club get back into the Premier League at the first attempt and believes Gayle is the man to help. Gayle is reportedly ready to turn his back on the London club in order to play more first team football.

Newcastle boss Benitez won’t be put off by Gayle’s £10m price tag as Benitez has been told he has a sizable transfer kitty to help rebuild the squad.

Should Newcastle sign the Palace striker he would boost the attacking options available to Rafa Benitez With Mitrovic, Perez and Armstrong his options as a question mark remains over the future of Papiss Cisse.
