Newcastle United’s French winger Florian Thauvin is being persistently linked with moves away from the club. The Marseille loan player is being touted for Tottenham Hotspur, Valencia, Lazio and Inter Milan by various sources.
Le10Sport claim that Spurs, who may be a major factor in Newcastle’s fight for survival, are extremely interested in the 23-year old Frenchman. Valencia are also said to be keen
Italian website Tuttomercatoweb claim that Inter Milan are ready to move in for Thauvin whether Newcastle are in the Premier League or the Championship. The rumours come following his turn around in form, scoring twice in two games and helping OM to the French Cup Final.
Furthermore, Corriere dello Sport state that Lazio are rumoured to be renewing their interest in Thauvin, who they came close to signing last summer, but only if the Magpies are relegated. It is thought Lazio wouldn’t be willing to meet the asking price for Thauvin, therefore are hoping to steal the winger away on the cheap this summer.
Thauvin arrived on Tyneside last summer for a fee believed to be around £14-million but never lived up to expectations under Steve McClaren. It is still unknown whether he features in Rafa Benitez’s long term plans…and that depends on the Spaniard’s future too.
