Newcastle United intend to offload four regular squad players before the January transfer window shuts. However, they are unwilling to sell Moussa Sissoko to foreign shores according to the Express.
Many headlines have suggested that Sissoko has attracted a lot of attention during the early stages of the January transfer window, especially from Italy in recent weeks.
Current Seria A leaders Napoli have reportedly considered a £27-million move for the attacking midfielder, but Newcastle are reluctant to sell the Frenchman. Sissoko hasn’t had the best season in front of goal, failing to score any goals in his 21 appearances, but manager Steve McClaren has started constructing a new team with Sissoko as a key member. His pace and power offers Newcastle United an outlet that no-one else can.

So far this season, Newcastle have already spent £17 million on central midfielders Jonjo Shelvey and Henri Savert. Furthermore, The Express goes on to say the club intend to offload four players to free up space in the squad.
Outcast midfielders Sylvain Marveaux and Yoan Gouffran are both understood to not be in the Toon boss’ future plans and will be free to leave the club. Marveaux has not featured regularly at St. James’ Park since 2011, being sent out on loan. Whereas Gouffran has featured in past years, but looks set to leave after only making 7 appearances with 2 first team starts.

Cheick Tioté looks certain to leave the club this month, even though his move to Chinese team Shanghai Shenhua looks to have stalled due to his £60,000-a-week contract demands. However, both clubs seem to remain positive over the move taking place.
The final member of the quartet who is set to leave the club is loyal centre-back Mike Williamson, who after impressing manager Kenny Jackett is set to complete a permanent move to Wolves after a successful loan period.
