Newcastle United and Bournemouth are set to battle it out for former England centre back Michael Dawson, according to The Hull Daily Mail.
Former Spurs man Dawson has appeared 4 times for England, as well as captaining both Spurs and Hull. So far he’s played 18 games for Hull in the Championship, scoring once.
Hull sit just 5 points behind Middlesbrough, who lead the race for automatic promotion. Since his £3.5-million move from Tottenham, Dawson has been instrumental in Hull’s defensive department, providing the stability and leadership both Bournemouth and Newcastle dream of.
However Dawson has quite the injury record, especially during his days at Tottenham, whilst being 32 years of age could more than likely be a snagging point on the deal, especially from The Magpies point of view.
Dawson is currently out with a hamstring problem.
Bournemouth are currently monitoring the services of Curtis Davies in a potential £3-million move.
