Newcastle United are monitoring the situation surrounding Crystal Palace’s want-away striker Dwight Gayle, according to TalkSport.
The 25-year-old striker hasn’t played any major part in Alan Pardew’s plans since October, featuring just once for the Eagles.
Gayle is being chased by both Newcastle United and Norwich of the Premier League, with both clubs needing firepower in the lead up to the relegation scrap.

Championship promotion favourites Derby County are also interested in Gayle, who nearly left Palace in the summer after Bristol City had a £6million bid accepted.
Gayle has scored 23 goals in 64 appearances for the London club, arriving from Peterborough for a then club record fee of £4.5million.
Gayle would offer Newcastle some much needed striking options, with Papiss Cisse having being ruled out for 3 months with a groin injury and Aleksandar Mitrovic not finding the net in the last four games.
