Newcastle United host Everton this weekend in what is their final home fixture of the calendar year. Steve McClaren will be hoping to bounce back from the disappointing draw to Aston Villa and secure a fifth win of the season, but Roberto Martinez’s side will be a tough test.
The Magpies have won three of their last six games and currently sit in sixth place in the Premier League form guide. Meanwhile, Saturday’s opponents have only managed one win in their last six – a 4-0 victory at home to struggling Aston Villa.
Form is with Newcastle, but it is Everton who have had far greater success when the clubs have met in recent seasons. The Toffees have beaten the Magpies six times in their last nine meetings – only losing three since 2007.
Ahead of this weekend’s fixture, we have decided to take a trip down a rather bleak memory lane and relive Newcastle’s last five clashes with Everton.
