Newcastle goalkeeper Rob Elliot has played down recent rumours regarding heated exchanges between both players and staff.
The Irishman has featured regularly for the Magpies ever since the reliable Tim Krul suffered a season-ending injury, and he has dismissed talk of unrest behind the scenes.
After a multitude of abysmal results, various media outlets reported that the club’s staff and players were involved in a ferocious training ground bust-up, but Steve McClaren’s side looked rejuvenated last weekend – beating Liverpool 2-0 at St. James’ Park.

Elliot, who has impressed the Geordie faithful with some decent performances in recent months, put the rumours to bed this week (quotes from the Daily Mail):
“Contrary to some of the reports, we are a good squad and we do all get on – I can honestly say that.”
The so-called arguments have not really been arguments, they’ve just been people being more honest and open because they care.
Regardless of whether or not an altercation took place in the midst of the training ground, what really matters is the team’s form – and recently, they’ve shown positive signs of improvement.
