Former Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United manager Harry Redknapp is one of the names on a potential shortlist of candidates to replace Steve McClaren as Newcastle boss, according to Darren Lewis of The Mirror.
According to Lewis, Brendan Rodgers is the most likely replacement if McClaren is dismissed, but there is no guarantee that the former Liverpool boss will take the job if offered it, and Redknapp is reportedly a Plan B.
Redknapp has been out of management since February of this year, when he quit as Queens Park Rangers’ manager saying that an operation on his knee would prevent him from committing 100% to the role.

The 68-year-old has been working as a pundit on TV since leaving QPR, and if he was to brought in, it would most likely be as a short-term stop gap, maybe even as an interim.
Of course, this all hinges on the future of McClaren, whose job is reportedly safe for now.
