According to reports in the Mirror, Newcastle are searching for a solution to their lack of goals in the form of Marseille striker Michy Batshuayi.
Batshuayi has been linked with several of the Premier League’s so-called ‘big clubs’ like Arsenal and Spurs, as well as many other top clubs across Europe.
However, a problem in this deal for Newcastle is that Marseille have stated that they want at least £35m for the 22-year-old.

So far this season, Batshuayi has scored nine goals in 16 matches in all competitons. He has scored goals at Europa League level, showing the quality that he could bring to Tyneside, should Newcastle invest in him.
Newcastle have scored only 13 goals this season, Aston Villa being the only team to score less.
Newcastle have only netted once in their last four games and currently sit 17th in the table – one point above the relegation zone. There has been a slight improvement in recent weeks, with Steve McClaren’s side securing two wins and a draw in their last five games.
For their next match, they travel to London to face Crystal Palace and will hope to get back to winning ways after the disappointing defeat to Leicester.
