Off the back of what seemed like a year-long international break, Steve McClaren’s resurged Newcastle side will take on high-flying Leicester City in St.James’ Park this weekend.
The Magpies dangerously sit just one place clear of the relegation zone, with a slim gap of two points separating them and Bournemouth. They narrowly overcame the Cherries by one goal in their last fixture, after being under the cosh for the majority of the game.
Claudio Ranieri and the Foxes have been the surprise package of the Premier League this campaign. Astonishingly, they are 3rd in the table, just one point behind joint leaders Arsenal and Manchester City.
There are no new injury doubts for the Toon, and with Jamie Vardy reportedly a major doubt for the clash, high spirits will definitely be flowing throughout McClaren’s squad.
Here’s our combined XI of the two teams.
