With the January transfer window fast approaching and Steve McClaren seeming intent on letting Newcastle fans know that Mike Ashley will be spending big again, it could be time to get rid of some of the dead wood that still remains at the club.

McClaren will look to add another centre back during the window, as well as possibly looking into adding another winger off the back of Florian Thauvin’s slow start to English football.
